In case of muggy weather you can try the refreshing coolness of the ‘Foresta Umbra’, just 5 km from Vieste.
Full of rolling hills and giant trees, this forest is crossed by highlighted trails which can be followed on foot or by bike and has developed areas for the educational use of some of its components: a museum of the animals and typical plants with lithic finds of the prehistorical period, an area for the reconstruction of environments and tools used by colliers and a small lake with turtles, carps and waterfowls.
